The Wisconsin Institute for Sleep and Consciousness sometimes offers internships to motivated undergraduates who are interested in getting experience undertaking research on sleep and/or consciousness. If you are an undergraduate and would like to intern at WISC, please email us your CV, a brief statement of interest, your availability during the week, and the dates for which you are seeking the internship. The email to which you will send these materials will depend on your research interests, so please review the following statements before emailing us:
If you are interested more generally in human sleep research (e.g., studies using hd-EEG), please send all materials and inquiries to Dr. Stephanie Jones at sgjones2@wisc.edu
If you are interested in clinical sleep disorders research, including disorders of excessive daytime sleepiness, please send all materials and inquiries to plantelab@mailplus.wisc.edu
If you are interested in either sleep or consciousness research involving animal models, please send all materials and inquiries to Dr. Graham Findlay at gfindlay@wisc.edu and put ‘WISC internship’ in the email’s subject line.
If you are interested in computational or theoretical research involving the integrated information theory of consciousness, please send all materials and inquiries to Dr. Matteo Grasso at grasso2@wisc.edu and put ‘WISC internship’ in the email’s subject line.
If you are interested in consciousness research on epilepsy or meditation in human subjects (e.g., studies using either intracranial recording or hd-EEG), please send all materials and inquiries to Prof. Melanie Boly at boly@neurology.wisc.edu
If you are interested in the novel, dynamic, and understudied intersection of women’s health and sleep, specifically pregnancy as a model of the physiologic importance of sleep, and the role of sleep apnea in pregnancy, maternal and baby outcomes, please contact Dr. Bazalakova at bazalakova@wisc.edu
